Synopsis: Claudia and Serafina have been friends most of their lives, but a new dynamic forms as they push the boundaries of their friendship. As they navigate the reactions of their families, they struggle to reaffirm what they once thought was right. Will they be strong enough to survive the aftermath together? No One Cares is an exploration of family, friendship, and what kinds of love exist between them during a cold front in Miami, FL.

About Ale Castillo (She/Her/Ella):
Ale Castillo is an Uruguayan-American playwright and actor who has lived in Chicago for twelve years. She serves as an Associate Artistic Director for Visión Latino Theater Company (VLTC), now a Joseph Jefferson Award winning theater company. Castillo’s artistic work is informed by growing up in Miami, Florida, which inspired her first screenplay, “Literally”. As an artist, Ale has worked with CLATA, Goodman Theater, PrideArts, Silk Road Rising, and Teatro Vista, among others. She began playwrighting in 2008 with the creation of The New Play Project, a collective for upcoming artists and writers to workshop and produce work at Area Stage in South Miami. She also served as an educator for nine years in Chicago, working with Emerald City Children’s Theatre in outreach programs for ages 3-13 across the city. She is an advocate for Latiné representation in film and theatre in all cities.
About Raquel Torre (she/her/ella):
She is a Borikén-born creative who delights in crafting spectacle and narrative. She is a creator and performer from Puerto Rico with a background in physical theatre and devised performance. Since moving to Chicago in 2016, she’s collaborated with UrbanTheater Company, Filament Theatre, Shattered Globe Theatre, Drury Lane Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre, The Gift Theatre, Opera-Matic, Playmakers Lab, Northlight Theatre, Physical Theater Festival, among others, as a director, movement coach, facilitator and performer. In 2013, she co-founded La Vuelta Ensemble (formerly Circo La Vuelta) with her partner Jean Claudio, a minority-led ensemble with a focus on high physicality and delightful absurdity. Raquel holds a BA in theatre from the Universidad de Sagrado Corazón (Puerto Rico), a certificate in Devised and Movement Theatre from Cabuia Teatro (Argentina), and an MFA in Devised Performance Practice from LISPA/Columbia College Chicago (Berlin/Chicago).
