Jorge Valdivia Executive Director

Jorge Valdivia has over twenty-five years of experience in arts and media management. His work is centered in diversity and equity through social practice, public engagement, and advocacy in the arts. He has won awards and been recognized for his strong contributions to both the Latino/a/e and LGBTQ communities. Most recently, Valdivia served as the Director of Performing Arts Director for the National Museum of Mexican Art where he led the Museum in presenting a year-round calendar of events focusing on performing arts, literature, and film. There he also curated the Sor Juana Arts Festival, a multidisciplinary arts festival that he successfully expanded into seven cities.

Christine A. Pérez Managing Director

Christine is a native of Woodstock, Illinois, aka Punxsutawney, PA, from Harold Ramis’ film Groundhog Day. Like a moth to a flame, she flocked to the big city lights to be closer to Chicago’s immense Arts and Culture offerings.

She’s passionate about traveling and exploring the cultural diversity of the Art, music and culinary scenes of neighborhoods in Chicago and around the world.

In her free time, Christine enjoys cycling around the city attending street festivals, concerts, films and thrift shopping. She’s a maker at heart and loves salvaging items to create accessories and home goods from vintage fabric, wood and metal.

Esteban Schemberg Production Coordinator

Esteban is a native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, an avid soccer fan, food lover (from everywhere) and is striving to be a good cook. He loves the scenic arts in all their different ways and thinks that the possibilities on stage are endless. He is proud to be part of the Chicago Latino Theater Alliance.
